Commis (Social House - Dubai, UAE)

Job Description
  • To assist the kitchen team during service for timing and progress of all dishes. 
  • To ensure that the presentation, taste, texture and quantity are maintained to the standards lay by the Company. 
  • Informs on a daily basis to the Chef De Partie on all relevant information on operational and personal matters. 
  • Sees to it that all food items for the restaurant are prepared on time and meet quality and quantity standards. 
  • Prepares on daily basis food requisitions as assigned. 
  • Maintaining of cleanliness in all assigned areas, including refrigerators and freezers.
  • Ensures freshness and suitability of products used by the section and that they are stored properly. 
  • Ensures smooth running of the section during Demi Chef De Partie absence. 
  • Assist DCDP to complete all goods received and commodity stock sheets on the in-unit trading system in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • To liaise with the DCDP/CDP and implement new menu/dishes/systems where applicable. 
  • To stock takes as required.
  • Helps DCDP to understand the restaurants budget and work to the agreed targets on food cost and wastage.
  • Helps DCDP undertake regular audits of all areas within the kitchen and storage areas to ensure complete adherence to agreed policies.
  • Assist DCDP to ensure that all appliances, fixtures and fittings are safe and work in accordance with company’s standards.
  • Ensure productivity at all times.
Job Requirements
  • Good Culinary Skills.
  • Knowledge in Food Processing & Preservation.
  • Expected to work in flexible hours.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • To be able to perform heavy duties.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Full day availability is required, flexible schedule.
  • Should expect to work flexible hours.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Available for placement in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
